Ode to Mae Brussell

Sometimes I sit back and wonder what Mae would have said and done about the pernicious militarization of our society in these early years of the 21st century. We are obviously at an impasse with multiple military engagements in our future (Iran, North Korea) if we do nothing to stop them.

All that Mae had was her research and her tape broadcasts, but that was enough to initiate the serial decade shitstorm which rattled the "system," in a fundamental way, to its foundations. It may have even killed her (Mae ultimately succumbed to the same type of "fast cancer" which had killed other notable dissidents and conspiracy witnesses and which she had repeatedly commented upon).

Mae was monitored and Mae was harrased but she held firm and her works continues to lay waste to the lies of our national security state to this day. I wish she were here with us today to lend a hand, a voice and a razor-like wit...
